Any screenwriters out there reading the
journal? Pär writes me to say:
Yesterday I rented 'Cube', which was a
pretty cool movie, though strange and a bit
fucked-up. It's strange how as long as a
movie is a little bit scifi/fantasy, it feels
like a treat to me, even though the movie is
really about relationships between people,
which normally makes me snore. Like, if The
Big Chill was set in the same house, but
there were little robot rats that came out at
night and nibbled the characters to death,
one by one, it would totally rock as a movie.
Are you listening, screenwriters? That's your
demographic right there, folks. The magical
formula:
Big Chill
+ Little Nibbling Killer Robot Rats
------------------------------------
= rocking movie.
